The top Republican in the state Senate says they “stand ready” to strike down the statewide mask mandate that Governor Evers is putting in place.
Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald stopped short of promising the Senate would vote to kill the order.
The Legislature can revoke a governor’s emergency order. Republicans also control the Assembly, and they would also have to vote.
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos says he expects a legal challenge, but he didn’t raise the possibility yesterday of the Legislature taking action.
