At the beginning of July Comedy Central announced that they were bringing back Beavis And Butt-Head. Now Comedy Central said they are bringing back another ’90s cartoon, Ren & Stimpy, which last aired on Nickelodeon 25 years ago but had a short reboot on Spike TV in 2003.
Chris McCarthy, President of ViacomCBS Entertainment & Youth Group said the show will be reimagined for a new generation and that they plan to hire a new creative team for the update:
“We are excited to reinvent this iconic franchise with a new creative team and our partners at the Nickelodeon Animation Studio. Ren & Stimpy joins our rapidly expanding roster of adult animation including South Park, Beavis and Butt-Head and Clone High as we continue to reimagine our treasure chest of beloved IP for new generations.”
Comedy Central has not announced a premiere date yet or how many episodes they plan on airing.
Beavis and Butt-Head and Ren & Stimpy aren’t they only shows added so far. Comedy Central is also planning a spin-off of Daria. The Jodie Landon character will have her own show, Jodie.
