A Republican in the Assembly doesn’t think there are enough votes to throw out the statewide mask order.
Rep. Adam Neylon of Pewaukee was on UpFront, and he still hopes they’ll take action on the executive order. He believes it’s about freedom, personal responsibility, and local contract. He also thinks there should be limits to a governor’s power.
Democratic Rep. Greta Neubauer of Racine agrees there should be limits on the power of government. But she thinks doing what they can to save the lives of community members, by enacting public health measures, is clearly within the role of government.
Governor Evers put the mask mandate in place last month. It’s scheduled to be in effect until September 28th.
