With masks now everyday attire for many people, an expert says they need to take care of them to make sure they’re effective.
Prevea Health President Dr. Ashok Rai tells Action 2 News cloth masks need to be cleaned on a daily basis. He says it’s also a good idea for people to have a spare one, in case theirs gets wet or dirty.
Rai stresses people should only use medical-grade masks for one day.
He adds unless you work in a medical field and have direct contact with patients, it’s not necessary to immediately remove your work clothes when you get home as a precaution against COVID-19.
Rai also says multiple studies have proven that wearing a mask doesn’t significantly raise the levels of carbon dioxide in your body.
