The shortage in some supplies for coronavirus tests in Wisconsin is drawing comparisons to the battle over personal protective equipment several months ago.
Department of Health Services Secretary Andrea Palm says states are competing against each other, and that’s certainly an inefficient way to try to meet the needs of citizens.
She’s calling for a national testing strategy, and system, to make sure states have enough supplies.
Democratic U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin of Madison sent a letter to Vice President Mike Pence earlier this week. She wants the coronavirus task force to step in, to make sure supplies aren’t being diverted from Wisconsin to other states.
