Fond du Lac police are releasing more information about a search warrant and arrest made this morning.
Officers and the SWAT team took a 33-year-old man into custody for starting a car on fire on Sunday. Police say the suspect has an extensive violent criminal history and was believed to be armed. The 100 block of Ellis Street was blocked off during the arrest and neighbors were asked to shelter in place. Officials say the suspect is also wanted for substantial battery. The arson fire happened in the area of East Merrill Avenue and Marquette Street. No one was hurt.
