The Kimberly School District is joining the growing list of schools moving high risk fall sports to the spring of 2021.
The board made that unanimous decision last night. Kimberly is one of 10 schools in its conference and the district says its decision comes after five other schools it would normally compete with also moved fall sports to the spring. Golf, tennis and cross country seasons are still expected to take place as scheduled. Athletic Director Ryan McGinnis says it’s unclear how much competition the teams might have.
The district didn’t survey students and parents before making this decision, but some athletes did indicate they would drop out of sports if they were played this fall.
