Appleton police will handle tickets for parking on the front or side lawns at a home a little differently.
Assistant City Attorney Darrin Glad says they learned they should be fining people under a separate city law. The city council is keeping the fines the same, $20 for a first offense, and up to $200 for repeat offenders.
Police Chief Todd Thomas says if they continue to have problems at a house, they get together with the homeowner.
Ald. Bill Siebers says parking on lawns is an issue in his district, north of College Avenue.
