Some people in northeast Wisconsin are paying more for their property taxes than in other parts of the state.
Wisconsin Policy Forum Researcher Jason Stein says a couple of the biggest cities are near the top for per-capita collections. Green Bay ranks fourth at $1,160, and Appleton is ninth at $884.
He says the numbers for spending per capita are much different. Stein says Green Bay’s figure is higher than Appleton and Oshkosh. He says those totals vary, depending on the amount of state funding each community gets.
Stein thinks it’s too soon to tell how the pandemic will impact the numbers.
