The City of Appleton will have several spots where people will be able to drop off their completed absentee ballots, if they don’t want to mail them.
Clerk Kami Lynch says they’re buying seven drop boxes. She says they’ll put one at each of the city’s six fire stations. One will go at City Hall, and Lynch hopes they can work out a drive-up system.
Lynch says they already have more than 23,000 requests for an absentee ballot for the November 3rd election. She’s urging people to use the state’s My Vote website to get a ballot.
Lynch hopes they’ll get the boxes by the first week of October. She says there’s a big demand from communities, so it’s taking longer to receive them.
