Several groups want to put together a master plan for tourism in the Fox Cities, and they’re applying for federal stimulus money to help pay for it.
Appleton Community Development Director Karen Harkness says they would study the existing market, and hold community surveys and workshops.
The Fox Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, and Appleton Downtown Incorporated are among the other groups involved.
The plan is expected to cost $200,000. They’re asking for $160,000 in federal funding, and the remaining $40,000 would be paid for locally.
