In plenty of districts around the Fox Cities, students are returning to classrooms for the first time since March.
Police are warning drivers to pay attention because buses and children will be out and about.
Fond du Lac Officer Ryan Williams says it’s a bit different this year, since it’s been a while. He’s urging people to slow down, take their time, and give kids the extra space they need.
Bronson Enli of Kobussen Buses says there are rules for drivers around buses. When there are red flashing lights, drivers need to stop, just like at a red light at an intersection. Flashing yellow lights mean to proceed with caution.
Crossing guards are also returning to busy streets and intersections.
Appleton and Green Bay public school students will be learning online at home at the start of the year because of COVID-19 activity.
