The 20th Annual Women’s Fund Luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. The event is virtual.
The keynote speaker is Appleton native Johanna Garton. Her book Edge of the Map tells the story of another Appleton native, Christine Boskoff. Garton says Boskoff had a luminous career as a mountaineer. She says the sport is male dominated and even though she received a lot of attention because of her gender Boskoff never wanted that to define her. Garton says she wants to tell women to stick to whatever passion they have, no matter what.
Boskoff went missing in China and died in an avalanche in 2006.
