Appleton set a record for new coronavirus cases for the third straight week.
There were 159 in the city last week. That’s up from 123 two weeks ago, and 95 three weeks ago. Before that, the city had two weeks of steady numbers around 45.
There are 255 active cases in Appleton. Eight people have died.
The Appleton area was 11th on the weekly “New York Times” list of the places with the fastest-growing case rates in the country.
