Passenger numbers at Appleton International Airport continue to bounce back slowly.
The August total of more than 25,000 was up 10 percent from July.
Airport spokesman Patrick Tracey thinks they’re seeing signs of life in the travel industry, and they’re definitely noticing there are more people at the airport.
He points out it still looks almost empty, though, because their numbers were down 65 percent from August of last year. He says they’re encouraged and ready to welcome travelers when they’re ready to come back.
Allegiant Air’s numbers for August were the best of the four airlines at Appleton International. Tracey thinks that’s because people could be visiting family in areas around the non-stop destinations.
