A weather reporter in the UK inadvertently set himself up for the ultimate RickRoll by not knowing who that day’s show guest would be on BBC Breakfast.
After his weather report, Matt Taylor was asked by host Charlie Stayt whether he was a fan of Rick Astley.
Taylor answered a little too quickly and honestly of the “Never Gonna Give You Up” singer, “Not a massive one.”
“That was the wrong thing to say, he’s listening and he’s coming up in just a moment,” replied Stayt. “I’ll ask you again, ‘Are you a Ricky Astley fan?’”
To which Taylor quickly changed his tune. “Love Rick Astley. Best.”
Astley himself could be seen laughing in hysterics on his video feed from home.

Taylor has turned this into a lesson for himself on Twitter, saying, “Note to self … Charlie isn’t always trying to make me do something silly, like sing, on air (hence my response) AND MORE IMPORTANTLY Make sure you check who is on the programme after you.”
