Majority Republicans in the Legislature are appealing a federal court ruling that extends the deadline for absentee ballots to count.
A federal judge ruled local clerks can count them, if they’re postmarked by November 3rd and arrive within six days of the election.
Democratic groups and some non-partisan organizations sued to get the extension.
Under state law, absentee ballots have to be returned by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
