There’s an increase in domestic violence and abuse and that has advocates that work with sexual assault and domestic violence survivors concerned. Holli Fisher the program manager at the Sexual Assault Center in Green Bay thinks too often there may be self shame and self blame and that keeps people from coming forward. She’s seeing a big increase in child victims.
She says usually the number of kids coming forward increases when classes resumes and the center starts prevention campaigns in schools. But Fisher worries with those programs going viral it will be harder for some victims to speak out.
