A federal appeals court won’t put its decision on absentee ballots on hold.
The 7th Circuit Court yesterday upheld a federal judge’s ruling that local clerks can count the ballots, if they arrive up to six days after the election. They also need to be postmarked by Election Day.
The Republican National Committee, state GOP party, and Majority Republicans in the Legislature wanted the appeals court to delay the decision. It’s likely they’ll ask the U.S. Supreme Court to take up the case.
