You can now break yourself a piece of high-end chocolate goodness… in Japan.
The folks at Nestle’ have developed a new KitKat bar in Japan where the cocoa nibs used in making the chocolate has been aged in Scottish whiskey barrels. The result is a “unique smoky and peat flavor”, according to Japan’s KitKat Chocolatory website. The KitKat Chocolatory stores offer a number of variant flavors of the candy, not only in Japan but also Canada and England. The whiskey-barrel aged KitKat is limited to Japan and an individually-wrapped KitKat wafer costs just under $3.00 USD.
Alternate flavors of KitKat bars are nothing new. Many KitKat varieties are available through online retailers.
