Just three days after his 68th birthday former Packer General Manager Ted Thompson has died, according to a Tweet from Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Tom Silverstein.
Very sad news. Just heard from two sources that former #Packers GM Ted Thompson died last night. He had just turned 68 on Jan. 17.

In his 13 years with team, the Packers made the playoffs nine times and won one Super Bowl. It’s not an exaggeration to say that Thompson played a key role in bringing winning back to Green Bay. Of course, he will also be remembered as the man who traded away Brett Favre. Thompson was elected to the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame in 2019.
Rest In Peace Ted. I’m forever thankful that you gave me the opportunity to play for my hometown team. pic.twitter.com/C3OopjSUqN
