A Fond du Lac couple that processed caviar from sturgeon eggs collected improperly by D-N-R employees could see the charges against them dismissed. If Mary and Victor Schneider do not commit a crime or process any caviar for the next year, counts of Illegal Possession of Wild Game will be dropped. The Schneiders were charged after an investigation into D-N-R employees collecting sturgeon eggs from spearers under the guise of using them for research–but actually trading them for caviar. Sturgeon Biologist Ryan Koenigs is facing charges in two counties related to that investigation.
