The Murphy’s Multiverse website – known for its insider movie news – reports that Rob Zombie is working on a film based on The Munsters television show. The article says that the project is rather far along in development with filming to begin in May in Hungary. Two actors that the horror rocker has used in his other films – Jeff Daniel Phillips and Zombie’s wife, Sheri Moon Zombie – will play Herman and Lily Munster, respectively. Other cast members include Dan Roebuck, Jorge Garcia and Richard Brake and Elvira, Mistress of the Dark (Cassandra Peterson).
The Munsters appeared on CBS from 1964 to 1966 and was popular in syndication as well as Nickelodeon’s Nick at Nite programming. No release date has been set.
