A California seafood restaurant was the victim of crustacean crime as a – yet unidentified – man stole crabs from their outside tank.
The man reportedly stole $500 worth of crabs from Giovanni’s Fish Market and Gallery.
Security cam footage shows the man accessed the locked yard and then cut the locks off the tank containing what the owners say was “thousands of dollars worth of crabs.”
The man can be seen grabbing 15 crabs with his bare hands (which is “not advised” as the owner warned).
Strangely, at one point during the video, the man pulls out a fishing pole(?) which wasn’t used in the heist.
The entire crab caper took less than ten minutes.
The owners think the crabs were for some Easter gathering as it happened the night before the holiday but are hoping someone will recognize the thief from the security footage uploaded to YouTube.
