Looks like those ol’ Duke boys have traded in the General Lee for a crossover SUV.
Surveillance video from Daytona, Florida shows a very impatient SUV driver having no time to wait for those pesky drawbridges (part of me understands having lived in Oshkosh for a number of years) and deciding to literally blow through the drop arms and take flight.
Fortunately the bridge wasn’t fully up (like it was in The Blues Brothers) it was only open a little bit when they got to the gap, so they made it across. But then they smashed the traffic arm on the other side as they drove away.
The Daytona cops say they think they’ve identified the driver and they’re trying to track them down.
Good luck getting them to stop.
Apparently a motorcycle jumped the same drawbridge about a month ago.
