A lawmaker from Appleton is in favor is ending the $300 unemployment payment from the federal government.
Senator Roger Roth tells Josh Dukelow on Fresh Take he understands why it was put in place. He calls the program good in times of need. He feels the money needs to be scaled back to keep the program viable and to get people get back to work.
Roth is calling the Governor’s order to call a special session to expand BadgerCare a political move.
Roth sees politics on both sides. He says the finance committee hasn’t even take up that portion of the budget yet.
Roth is concerned about the level of spending. He says government programs are expanding at a fast pace. Roth stresses everyone in the state has access to healthcare.
