The Black Album from Metallica is one of the biggest selling albums in history. It is also only one of two albums in history to spend over 550 weeks on the Billboard top albums chart. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the landmark Metallica and on September 10th they are celebrating it with remaster of the original album. The box set version includes the original Black Album remastered on 180 gram vinyl & CD, “Sad But True” Picture Disc, “Live at Wembley” EP, “Live in Moscow” double LP, Two Interview CDs, Five CDs of Demos & Rough Mixes, Six Live CDs, Six Live & Behind the Scenes DVDs, plus Lyric Folder, Three Lithos, Lanyard, Tour Laminates, Three Guitar Picks & a 120-page book filled with never before seen photos and stories from those who were there.
Then there is what they are calling the Metallica Blacklist. The Metallica Blacklist celebrates the 30th anniversary and enduring influence of this musical milestone with one of the most ambitious projects ever conceived by the Metallica team: an unprecedented 50+ artists spanning a vast range of genres, generations, cultures, continents and more, each contributing a unique interpretation of their favorite Black Album cut. This includes the Miley Cyrus cover of “Nothing Else Matters.” Check out the trailer below with many clips of these songs.
