Los Angeles is known for Bronco chases. Inversely, Pico Rivera is known for its cow pursuits.
Late Tuesday night a herd of cows – bound for the slaughterhouse – somehow got loose and ran wild in a Pico Rivera, California neighborhood.
34 + cows were seen hoofing it down the streets – first running in the roadway then cutting through yards and trampling bushes. It’s commonly known that cows just do not respect residential landscaping.
One cow was shot and killed by a deputy during the incident after the animal injured a person.
The cows were eventually cornered in a cul-de-sac and then corralled into trailers.
Authorities worked late into the night trying to capture the remaining free-range cows.
It is still unknown how the cows escaped.
