Manitowoc County Sheriff’s officials are investigating a crash that killed a 31-year-old Kimberly woman and left two children with severe and life threatening injuries.
Officials believe Kristen VanDeVoort missed a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 42 and Highway VV in the town of Two Rivers around 4 p.m. Saturday. Her car was hit by a pickup truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A seven-year-old boy and an eight-year-old girl had to be extricated from the car and were flown to St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. The Appleton man driving the truck and his passenger were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
