The National Weather Service in Green Bay says straight-line winds caused damage in southwest Winnebago County on Wednesday.
Meteorologist Kira Jesse says crews assessed damage yesterday. She says they found hundreds of trees and power poles uprooted and snapped and shingles ripped off roofs.
Jesse notes 80 and 90 mile an hour wind is bigger than a small tornado.
Crews will be back out again today analyzing damage. She says they’re also going to evaluate Fond du Lac County.
