Disney+ has just released a stunning trailer for Peter Jackson’s new three-part documentary chronicling the making of The Beatles’ penultimate album, 1970’s Let It Be, “The Beatles: Get Back”
From Consequence of Film:
Jackson spent three years resorting and editing footage of The Beatles originally captured by Michael Lindsay-Hogg for his companion film Let It Be, including 55 hours of never-released footage and 140 hours of audio taken from the recording sessions. The Lord of the Rings filmmaker apparently uncovered too much good stuff to squeeze into one film, so he and Disney made the decision to release the documentary as three two-hour installments.
The documentary features – for the first time in its entirety – The Beatles’ last live performance as a group, the rooftop concert on London’s Savile Row on January 30th, 1969.
“The Beatles: get Back” premieres on Disney+ over Thanksgiving weekend (November 25th, 26th, and 27th).
