A drunk driver in Honolulu tried to run from police on Sunday, and sideswiped nearly 20 parked cars before he finally crashed and got arrested… a DU-Hawaii if you will.
The wreck(s) happened on a busy street (Ala Wai Boulevard) in a Waikiki neighborhood which is said to be a busy roadway with a fair amount of pedestrian and bike traffic during the day and evening.
Police usually stay stationed in an abandoned parking lot nearby where the incident happened and were able to immediately apprehend the suspect almost immediately.
Witnesses say the driver was yelling, seemed inebriated and was transported from the scene in an ambulance.
