The NFL announced the passing of Hall of Fame football coach and sportscaster John Madden.
Madden coached the Oakland Raiders to victory in Super Bowl XI (over the Minnesota Vikings!) before retiring and becoming arguably the best known color commentator in the history of the game.
Additionally, Madden has left a deep imprint on pop culture due to his association with his popular video game. He lent his voice, personality and name to the Madden NFL series of football video games, published by EA Sports/Electronic Arts since 1988 and still today remains one of the best selling games in the industry. In addition to his coaching and broadcasting (for which he won 17 Emmy awards), John will be remembered for his All Madden Teams, his Thanksgiving Day Turducken awards, and his love of Brett Favre.
Our deepest condolences to his wife Virginia, his sons Mike and Joe and, of course, Frank Caliendo.
