Oshkosh Common Council learns Tuesday it would be far more expensive to put new water storage tanks planned near Menominee Park completely or partially underground. A workshop on the Clearwell Project provided a progress report to council members. Linda Moore, the Project Manager for Design with Jacobs Engineering, says state regulations for underground water tanks and pipelines would greatly add to the project’s cost.
Jacobs Engineering says a partially buried storage tank system would cost Oshkosh just over 43-million-dollars. Systems at ground level would run between 29-point-seven-million and nearly 34-million-dollars.
