The Oshkosh Corporation’s six-billion dollar contract with the United States Postal Service to build a new fleet of delivery vehicles may be derailed by the Environmental Protection Agency. The E-P-A is asking the Biden administration to reconsider the order for 165-thousand trucks because they will be gasoline-powered and contribute to climate change. The Postal Service says it will review the contract but believes that it meets environmental requirements. The Oshkosh-built vehicles are estimated to get eight miles to the gallon. The vehicle-maker won the contract with the Postal Service in February of last year. It had not comment on the E-P-A objections.
