I’d understand if parents have reached the end of their rope with the movie “Frozen” with repeated-viewings numbering in the thousands but here’s one more performance from the soundtrack that is required viewing.
A little girl – named Amelia – who’s hunkered-down in a Ukrainian bomb shelter with family and neighbors – sings the song ‘Let it Go‘ from “Frozen” to lift people’s spirits.
The footage has since gone viral with millions of hits on social media with the performance ending with those gathered in the bunker cheering her performance.
It also garnered support from the song’s original singer, Broadway star Idina Menzel, who previously played Elsa, the character who sings the song in “Frozen.” Menzel tweeted, “We see you. We really, really see you.”
The video of the girl attracted other positive and supportive comments. One, claiming to be a Dutch music producer tweeted an offer to record the unnamed girl and to send the financial proceeds to support Ukraine’s resistance effort tweeting, “Hi little princess, i’m a music producer from the Netherlands. You have a beautiful voice. I will record a song or 2 or even a cd with you. Every penny will go to the people of Ukraine. Let’s get together, with you and your parents.! And keep on singing, everybody loves it!”
It’s both heartbreaking and heartwarming.
In darkness there is light and this little girl is beaming light and hope.
