Nope, that is in fact a horned lizard and some snakes and this guy was not happy to see the border agents. One thing we kept getting told coming back from Mexico on the International Incident was not to take anything from nature like rocks, sand, seashells, vegetation, and especially animals back to the U.S. This seems like common sense, but people will try to smuggle anything these days. At the border crossing in California, a guy had 52 snakes and lizards hidden in his clothes, and yes that includes his pants around his “groin area.”
“Smugglers will try every possible way to try and get their product, or in this case live reptiles, across the border,” said Sidney Aki, Customs and Border Protection director of field operations in San Diego. “In this occasion, the smuggler attempted to deceive CBP officers in order to bring these animals into the US, without taking care for the health and safety of the animals.”
