It will cost the city of Appleton more to provide downtown trolley service this summer. Lamers Bus Lines demanded an extra five-thousand dollars this year to provide the trolley and a driver through Octoberfest weekend. The Appleton Common Council has approved the added cost–but Alder Brad Firkus wasn’t happy about it.
If Lamers did not provide the trolley service for the line that serves the riverfront and the entertainment district, Valley Transit would have served Route 9 with a regular bus.
