New stats from the CDC indicate that cases of sexually transmitted diseases have risen sharply in just a year. In fact, in 2021 the total number of STD cases nationwide hit its highest since 1948.
But surely, that can’t be happening here in our own backyards, can it? We’ll, since 2017 cases of gonorrhea almost doubled in northeastern Wisconsin and syphilis cases have way more than doubled in that time and went up 71% from 2020 to 2021 alone.
So, how do we make people aware of this? Obviously, through poetry!
STD’s are on the rise,
according to those keeping the tally.
Throughout the nation and our state
And even throughout our own Fox Valley.
The problem is still mounting
and will keep growing until
someone can answer the age-old questions
like who suddenly put the whore in Hortonville?
Is Marion getting off
with some man from MAN-awa?
Is Kimberly doing it with a lot of men
Who hail from MEN-asha?
Who’s getting some tush in Sugar Bush?
Who’s getting some in Symco?
Are they blowing down more than just the wall
In the Calumet County town of Jericho?
Who’s getting deflowered in there in Howard?
Who’s getting some wood in Sher-wood?
In the Village of Potter, are they getting hotter?
Are the folks in Seymour seeing more than they should?
Are they getting on their knees in Neenah
Going to Fondy for a Rondy-vue
Are some getting a piece of Ash in Ashwaubenon
Or just baring boobs in Baraboo.
Are citizens of Embarrass
doing things they should be embarrassed by?
Have people in Shi-octon
all stopped being shy?
Are folks being too free with their love in Fre-mont
Are people in Wrights-town doing wrong?
Are folks in the town of Liberty taking liberties?
with some bros from Brother-town?
All I know is STD’s are on the increase in our state
From Stockbridge to Weyauwega.
Everything from Syphilis and Chlamydia
to good old fashion gonorrhea.
But there’s one way to stop this problem in Wisconsin
before it becomes too severe.
If they can put fluoride in our water
why not start putting penicillin in our beer?
