GREEN BAY, Wis–Looking for the perfect gift for that hard-to-buy-for Packers fan on your gift list? How about a Super Bowl I ring?
Former Packer Fuzzy Thurston’s ring is going up for auction this weekend. Thurston died in 2014, and had previously auctioned off his Super Bowl II ring in 2011 for nearly 51-thousand dollars to help pay off back taxes. Earlier this year, another Super Bowl I ring belonging to Dave Robinson was auctioned off for 174-thousand dollars.
Thurston’s ring is currently in the possession of a Florida man who bought it in a private sale from the player before his death.
