It was 50 years ago that Robert Plant and Led Zeppelin first performed Rock ‘n’ Roll. These days, Robert seems more inclined to perform boogie-woogie. But can you boogie-woogie your rock ‘n’ roll? Or can you rock ‘n’ roll your boogie-woogie? Or does all this just sound like nonsense baby talk?
No matter, Robert appeared this week on the long running British music series Later with Jools Holland where he was joined by Irish singer Imelda May and, did in deed, perform a boogie-woogie version of Rock ‘n’ Roll. And it kind of rocks.
