Yep… Cocaine Bear. Loosely based on true-life events of cocaine smugglers who tossed a bunch of blow out of their plane only for the coke to be found and ingested by a bear – resulting in the bear going on a cocaine-fueled rampage.
The official synopsis:
“Inspired by the 1985 true story of a drug runner’s plane crash, missing cocaine, and the black bear that ate it, this wild thriller finds an oddball group of cops, criminals, tourists and teens converging in a Georgia forest where a 500- pound apex predator has ingested a staggering amount of cocaine and gone on a coke-fueled rampage for more blow … and blood.”
Directed by Elizabeth Banks and written by Jimmy Warden with an ensemble cast including Keri Russell, Margo Martindale, O’Shea Jackson, Scott Seiss, Alden Ehrenreich, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and the late, great Ray Liotta.
Also HUGE Kudos to whomever had the foresight to make Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five’s “White Lines (Don’t Do It)” part of the soundtrack. *Chef’s Kiss*
Cocaine Bear blows into theaters on February 24th.
