Fleetwood Mac‘s social media has posted this notice concerning the death of longtime vocalist and keyboardist Christine McVie.

Christine joined the band shortly after marrying bassist John McVie in 1969. Her part of the soap opera that was the recording of the album Rumours was her affair with the band’s lighting director. The affair reportedly lead to both her writing of the hit song You Make Loving Fun and her eventual divorce from John.
Other songs she wrote or co-wrote for the band include Don’t Stop, Little Lies, Say You Love Me, Warm Ways, Over My Head and The Chain. She appeared on 14 Fleetwood Mac albums.
She reportedly died today in a hospital after a short illness.
