Will Ferrell added, yes, cowbell, to the debut of the band led by his son Magnus at the Music Box in San Diego on Saturday. Billed simply as “Opening Band” at the charity fundraiser for Cancer for College headlined by The Psychedelic Furs, Magnus’s band played a set that included a cover of Radiohead’s “Creep” plus three originals, one of which featured Will and his cowbell. The footage is exclusively on Rolling Stone so you can click here to see it happen. Of course, all of this is a callback to the famous SNL skit where he’s the cowbell player in Blue Oyster Cult and Christopher Walken expressing he’s “got a fever” for more cowbell.
