Normally it’s the high-speed chases that catch the eye and thrill the imagination… but sometimes it’s the slow-speed police chases that really capture our attention.
A North Carolina man sent a Dear John or in this case (IH) a John Deere letter to the police after leading them on a low-speed chase while driving a tractor.
The unidentified man hit two vehicles and pushed a dumpster into a church (Jesus take the wheel) before taking his tractor rage onto the highway. It was here where he was joined by local law enforcement on a low-speed chase topping out at a scorching 20mph!
Spike strips were deployed to no effect and I’m quite sure you can’t do a ‘pit maneuver’ on a tractor (?) so on we go.
Police then shot one of the tractor’s tires, again, to no avail. But it was at this point, approximately an hour into the chase, where the tractor left the highway, went into a residential yard, hit another car which then caused the man to abandon his escape implement and flee on foot. Thus making it the furthest anything in green and gold ran this entire season. *Rim Shot* The man was soon after tased and arrested.
Question: Does he post bail or BALE considering he was driving a tractor?
I know director David Lynch already made a movie about a man driving a tractor across Iowa and Wisconsin called ‘The Straight Story’ but if a movie is made about this particular incident can we please call it The Not So Fast and the Farmiest ????
Fine…we’ll workshop the title.
There was a police chase this morning in Boone involving a John Deere tractor that lasted for more than an hour and topped out at 20 mph and YES THERE IS VIDEO https://t.co/IFZxSZNR2i pic.twitter.com/GAIlzEkfvP
