MADISON, Wis–A man that had operated dozens of nursing homes across Wisconsin is charged with fraud. An federal indictment filed in Western Wisconsin District Court charges Kevin Breslin and Atrium Post Acute Care with Health Care Fraud, Wire Fraud, Conspiracy to Defraud the U-S Government, and Money Laundering.
According to the indictment, between 2015 and 2018 Atrium billed Medicaid and Medicare for $142-million in patient care it did not provide. The company also allegedly failed to pay employees and make promised contributions to their retirement accounts.
Breslin and Atrium operated nursing homes in Appleton, Chilton, Kewaunee, Little Chute, Neenah, New Holstein, Oconto Falls, Shawano, and Two Rivers. He would face more than 200-years in prison if convicted.
