It seems like every few months a giant well-known band or artist gets accused by a lesser-known band or artist of plagiarism. The latest comes from the artist Angelslang and is in regards to the 2020 Rolling Stones song “Living in a Ghost Town.”
According to Billboard, Sergio Garcia Fernandez, whose stage name is Angelslang, gave demos of “So Sorry” and “Seed of God” to “an immediate family member” of Mick Jagger and that he and Keith Richards “misappropriated many of the recognizable and key protected elements” from the songs, “So Sorry” and “Seed of God,” for the Stones’ 2020 single, “Living in a Ghost Town.” He also claims the Jagger family member has acknowledged via email receiving his demos.
You can see the videos for both songs below and make your own decision, but it seems to me that if it wasn’t for the Stones then Angelslang wouldn’t have a sound to go off of. If you would have told me that the song “So Sorry” was an unproduced Rolling Stones demo I wouldn’t argue with you. -Cutter
