NEPEUSKUN, Wis–A deer found sick in Winnebago County tests positive for Chronic Wasting Disease. The three-year old fawn was captured by a sheriff’s deputy this spring after residents in the town of Nepeuskun reported the animal appeared ill.
The discovery extends a ban on baiting and feeding of deer for another three years. It also extends the same bans in Fond du Lac, Waushara, and Green Lake counties for another two years. The D-N-R will host a public information session on C-W-D Tuesday, April 25th at Omro Town Hall.
