This week, the Appleton School Board began the arduous task of coming up with a name for the yet to be built new Appleton elementary school. Apparently, there used to be a school called Sandy Slope Elementary in Appleton. The guy from whom they bought the property for the school, now deceased, was apparently an alumnus and wanted them to name this new school, Sandy Slope. I think most of us can agree that that would be a crap name especially if the school isn’t even built on a sandy slope. And an even crappier location if it was.
That’s why we came up with our own suggestions, one of which I can really get behind.
