If you were hoping for a third Suicide Squad installment, unfortunately there are not plans for one in the near future.
According to CBR, the co-CEO of DC Studios, James Gunn, discussed his plains to rebrand the DCU in movies and television on Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum – and when he was asked about a Suicide Squad 3, he answered with a firm “no.”
He did however confirm that he will be focusing his attention on the Viola Davis-led Waller series, as well as Peacemaker Season 2, once he finishes his work directing Superman: Legacy.
According to CBR,
Even before he was announced to lead DC Studios alongside producer Peter Safran, Gunn dampened hopes for Suicide Squad 3 when he addressed his plans with The Playlist despite discussions with Warner Bros. about the threequel.
He said, “Yeah, we’ve talked about it, but the honest truth is, I just have so many hours in a day to work on stuff. And I had such a fun time working in television that I really think that’s what I’m going to spend the next year of my life doing.”
Gunn does plan on continuing the stories of the Suicide Squad characters, including Harley Quinn played by Margot Robbie, however, he is focusing his attention on the first installment of his new DCU slate with Superman: Legacy in which David Corenswet will play Clark Kent/Superman and Rachel Brosnahan will play Lois Lane.
You can expect Superman: Legacy to be in theaters on July 11, 2025.
